In April 2018, shortly after then Senator Heidi Heitkamp high fived Sen. Chuck Schumer over an anti-North Dakota bill, we had the opportunity to high five our own Heitkamp. Sierra Heitkamp, then NDYR National Committeewoman who is a distant cousin of former Senator Heidi Heitkamp, and then NDYR Chairman, Reed Christensen, took the stage for the YR update at the 2018 NDGOP State convention. After a brief update about the commitment of NDYR to a better tomorrow for ND, Chairman Reed ended with “We are unapologetically Pro-Life, and that’s worth High-Fiving our own Heitkamp.”
